Beyond the Gray

on the Musikverein's roof
the night Alfred Brendel played,
one more time.

Down, at the Museum,
Red umbrellas invite visitors
to spite the rain and venture over
to the new Orangerie exhibition rooms.

A Giant Red Peach
Hovers over Rotenturmstrasse,
almost touching St. Stephen's Cathedral.
You say this is not a peach?

An Exhausted Santa
Recapitulating his lists.
Where are cookies and milk?

The Merry-Go-Round
Going round and round,
Into the night,
Merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream!

  1. love that RED colour and the merry goround the coours are all primary..FAB!!

  2. As you remember, how crazy that I'm for red, especially these days. Loved giant red peach, as if wanted to take off your page, lol:) Not finishes, I'm also drawn to Angels in the following post, superrr shots.

  3. Isn't red such a gorgeous colour to brighten our wintry world?

  4. "...and the painted ponies go up and down; we're captive on a carousel of time; we can't return, we can only look behind from where we came, and go round and round and round in the circle game." (-Joni)

    What rich, bewitching images!

  5. The red umbrellas are genius. I might have to do an illustration based on that.

  6. the red unbrellas are my fav! :)

  7. I absolutely must have that exhausted Santa come to my house, so I could reassure him that "this too shall pass." He is fabulous and if they sold him in my town, I would have to adopt him in triplicate.

  8. The merry-go-round at the bottom is the best, love it.

  9. Oooooooooooooooooooooo
    Love the red

Thank you for taking the time to leave a note.
