Late Summer Afternoon in the Vineyards

Vienna, 19th District (Döbling)

  1. Well its 6pm here and after looking at your beautiful photos I have opened a nice bottle of Penfolds Grange Chardonnay 1994. :o)

  2. Looks like there will be great wine coming from those vineyards soon

  3. SIMON:

Fall and young wine will hit as soon enough, I'm afraid. :-)
I have yet to find a glass of Viennese wine I don't enjoy. ;-)

  4. Vineyards make excellent refuges for songbirds pausing on migration.

  5. Wow. Nice photographs.I have not seen a real vineyard before.

I came to thank you for your generous comments on my blogs.

I don't know if you know about the others...

I have a bird blog at and also a website that has a lot of pictures on it at if you are interested in seeing more photos.

I am in the process of doing books on the two blogs. One book on just my birds and one that covers the posts on my blog.

  6. MAALIE:
Infact, since it's very quiet and peaceful, one can hear many songbird voices and even hear the bees (and, I suppose, other insects).

    Thank you! :-)
I enjoy your beautiful photographs very much, there are quite a few birds I miss a lot, like the Cardinal, the Blue Bird, the American Gold Finch, the Carolina Wren. It's so nice to meet them again over at your place.

Here are more vineyard pictures, all shot in Vienna (Vienna's the only capital city with vineyards within city limits).

  7. Mmmm.... Vineyards are so beautiful.

  8. I agree with you, Tara! :-)

Thank you for taking the time to leave a note.
