Cooking as an Act of Love
Babette's Viennese Feast

Visual Delectations
Isn't this the kind of
writing on the wall
we all love?

Chocolate Quince Tartelette
with your coffee?

I said yes to sinful gluttony -
and, oh, what rapture!

Morsel after morsel
transporting me

on the wings of a perfectly composed
rhapsody of flavours to the higher spheres
of sweet nirvana

  3. I chanced on Babette's Feast by accident many years ago when I still lived in Canada. I click the remote control to Ontario public television station when the movie was just starting. From the beginning it grabbed me and just kept me glued to the screen. It was one of those movies when you forget where you are, you are just inside the story, participating in it with the characters.
I just returned from an evening with my friend. We went for a cup of tea and a piece of cake after seeing a play at the theatre. The cake was wonderful so was the raspberry sauce drizzled on the plate. Alas, I forgot my camera!

  10. It has been many years since I have seen that movie. I must rent it again from Netflix! I, recently, watched "Chocolat" a second time and loved it.
