Cooking as an Act of Love
Babette's Viennese Feast

Visual Delectations
Isn't this the kind of
writing on the wall
we all love?

Chocolate Quince Tartelette
with your coffee?

I said yes to sinful gluttony -
and, oh, what rapture!

Morsel after morsel
transporting me

on the wings of a perfectly composed
rhapsody of flavours to the higher spheres
of sweet nirvana

  1. We love the movie Babette's Feast and have watched it several times and will watch it many more times. As always Meriri, your photos are gorgeous and inspiring.

  2. Great movie Babette´s feast! And your shots are so appetizing!!! Wish you a lovely weekend dear Merisi!!

  3. I chanced on Babette's Feast by accident many years ago when I still lived in Canada. I click the remote control to Ontario public television station when the movie was just starting. From the beginning it grabbed me and just kept me glued to the screen. It was one of those movies when you forget where you are, you are just inside the story, participating in it with the characters.
I just returned from an evening with my friend. We went for a cup of tea and a piece of cake after seeing a play at the theatre. The cake was wonderful so was the raspberry sauce drizzled on the plate. Alas, I forgot my camera!

  4. Chocolate there is an exotic combination! It would be wonderful with a cup of coffee....

    I love that movie....Babette's Feast.

There is a restaurant here in my town also called Babette's Feast.

  5. Mmmm, chocolate! These photos are making me crave chocolate--good thing I have some chocolate chip cookies stashed away! Your photos are ovely as always, Merisi.

  6. Love that film. I'm hungry just thinking of it. And that choc/quince tartlet isn't helping...

  7. A beautiful and sensual post. Thank you, as always, for the richness of your photos and your writing.

  8. Oh my, that chocolate and quince delight looks *good*.

  9. Such sinful delicious decadence and my mouth hungers for the lusciousness of that wonderful looking tart, that seemed to go bye, bye as I scrolled down...glad you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the post images~

  10. It has been many years since I have seen that movie. I must rent it again from Netflix! I, recently, watched "Chocolat" a second time and loved it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a note.
