And a few forelorn heralds
Under a deep blue sky.

In the Imperial Palace's Courtyard,
A dozen or so tourists,
Braving the merciless heat.

They said!
And withered,
Only steps from relief!

Of the garden hose variety,
Just outside the courtyard,
At Heldenplatz.

Two grown-ups,
Playing
"Catch the drops!"

And the best place in town,
May well be here,
Under the fountain,
Contemplating a dive into the pond!
![](http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BP2gyMvM1rs/SJGXvpeFbbI/AAAAAAAALK4/cc9KB0aTZpg/s400/1+A+July+08+075.jpg)
Under the bridge,
Pigeons instead,
Trying to find some shade!
![](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BP2gyMvM1rs/SJGuVOJC46I/AAAAAAAALLY/cX8HgdRs1JI/s400/1+A+July+08+087.jpg)
What commotion?
Go ahead,
Make my day!
![](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BP2gyMvM1rs/SJGsPhF7LJI/AAAAAAAALLQ/vJ9tXkrrTO8/s400/1+A+July+08+079.jpg)
Oh yes, and then,
No more words!
![](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BP2gyMvM1rs/SJGXvH6p7GI/AAAAAAAALKw/kcPFavoYLWI/s400/1+A+July+08+073.jpg)
Is sit

I especailly love the ducks and the water.
ReplyDeleteThe statue sure looks surprised.
The mallard appears to be undertaking her post-nuptial moult as she seems to have shed some tail coverts behind her.
ReplyDeleteELIZABETH:
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely moment, watching the birds around the fountain. Made me want to dive right in. ;-)
MAALIE:
Clever mallard,
she did what many of us would want to do when the heat becomes suffocating: Shed a few feathers! ;-)
Are you that very attractive lady, second photo from last? I think we should be told!
ReplyDeleteBack to rain in England.
The ducks certainly have the right idea! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's another 100+ day in Dallas today........SPLASH! I'm with the ducks!!! Shedding feathers...I'm right there with her :)
ReplyDelete~Allie
