I know, I know,
this is supposed to be
a blog about Vienna
Still, here we are, fresh off the boat
at the Rialto fish market
looking for coffee
along a nearby Calle
As promised, we are now sipping real Italian espresso,
al banco - at the counter, as you are supposed to do
when you are in Venice

Beautiful pictures Merisi, you really captured the flavour of Venice...
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-)
DeleteSuch great images. Love the flair and charm of Venice that you captured.

Thank you, Mersad!
DeleteLove the picture of the gondola...great angle. However, the plastic fork in the plastic cup doesn't compare to the coffee on the silver tray with the down turned spoon on a glass of water and a day in Vienna.
ReplyDeleteBeing a small place, and inundated with tourists most of the year, leaves traces and scars.
DeleteThe thoughtlessly left behind plastic trash is but a reminder of how easily we mar beautiful places, unfortunately.
Sigh, I can never get enough of Venice. Do you know of any good Venice blogs?
ReplyDeleteI used to love a Venice blog by a Frenchman, alas, it has disappeared.
DeleteI have come across a few by people not actually living there, and it shows.
I agree with LOREE.........are there any Venice blogs out there?
ReplyDeleteYou are tempting me to start publishing my own Venice pictures. I have tons of them, from many a visit since I moved to Vienna. ;-)
DeleteIt's ok to leave Vienna for Venice! I'd love to go back someday. The third photo is just spectacular, Merisi.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-)
DeleteI often walk by that restaurant, and that was the first time I noticed flowers in that window.
OMG I LOVE THIS. i have been there but wow you make me remember it more beautiful then before.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-)
DeleteWhat a pity I missed you when we were there.......
ReplyDeleteWe both are there quite frequently, who knows, one fine day, again?
Deletei was in the 2007 .. or maybe it was 2003 ... in any case the espresso was far better than the food
ReplyDeleteI find it harder and harder to find really great food in Venice, and I know it well.
DeleteSuch a pity!
wonderful post. I shared on our Dream of Venice FB page. Grazie Merisi ~
ReplyDeleteThank you, JoAnn, I very much appreciate that!
DeleteSaluti,
Merisi
