A Glass of Grüner Veltliner
Somehow fitting, I was not sure
wether I was dead drunk or if
I had gone to heaven

After a leisurely stroll through Melk Abbey's
Baroque "Garden of Paradise"

I had walked up the steps and
entered the garden pavilion

and felt immediately
transported to a realm of dreams

Là, tout n’est qu’ordre et beauté,
Luxe, calme et volupté *

Le monde s’endort
Dans une chaude lumière *

You see, I was so enchanted, it was as if
my thoughts created an autopoietic language

that expressed itself
in cinematic poetry

I will go back, maybe with a set
of cup and saucer more fitting
of coffee in paradise

What a beautiful place!! I would love to enjoy just about anything there!! Great captures as always, Meris!! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteYou would also love the extensive gardens and the gorgeous view: down to the Danube river and the hills beyond, mesmerizing!
DeleteGorgeous. I love how it reflects in the table.
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful place, indeed!
DeleteI want to go back one day, with times on my hand to take more pictures. ;-)
Wow, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis is just stunning! I love the reflection in the table. Merisi, your words are as beautiful as the photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy!
DeleteI usually try to have my pictures speak for themselves, but sometimes I just can't refrain from uttering the one or other word. ;-)
WOW, this is sooooo beautiful, I find it difficult to find the right words to use both in English and in my language, Norwegian!
ReplyDelete(PS: You are right the cups could have been different.... )
Yes, it is heavenly there, the gardens also.
DeleteThe cups are a bit of a let-down. A big one. ;-)
Visions of supreme delight, each and every one!
ReplyDeleteI can scarcely believe what I am seeing here. Just amazingly beautiful and wonderfully photographed, yet again.
ReplyDeleteHeavenly! Was there a harp playing in the background? I thought I could hear it....
ReplyDeleteAhh Merisi, after being away for a while doing some of my own traveling, it's been a treat to visit here and sense a bit of what appears heavenly in your pictures and words.

The drama and beauty of this place is so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have worn my camera out taking photos and gotten a crick in my neck from gawking.
I especially love the ceiling reflection on the table and the one of the wall frieze and floor meet. Pure artistry.
A Cappuccino and a decadent treat here would do me good today ;-)
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a fabulous place! Your photos are so beautiful!
