Prince Eugene's Schloss Hof
Viennese Escapes

In the Gardens
of Prince Eugene of Savoy's
country estate, Schloss Hof

On the horizon
beckons another country, Slovakia

A plum orchard
alongside the main building

I spied many a plum whispering
"I'll soon be ripe and ready!"

A walk through the gardens
of Prince Eugene's country estate
means experiencing summer at its very best,
as if entering a dream and sailing on clouds

  1. What a wonderful, beautiful place to spend time!! I do love those happy skies! Superb captures for the day, Merisi! Have a great week!

  2. Merisi, what joy to see those blue sky views again, and to know that perhaps the way that I have been following your posts is still operational.

    Happy July! xo

  3. Ah, you not only live in a beautiful city, you are a short drive from beautiful outlying areas too! Thanks for the blue skies!

  4. Our skies looked a lot like that today. Achingly blue with big puffs of cloud.

  5. “You don't take a photograph, you make it.”
    ― Ansel Adams

    Wonderful! - Chirca ;)

  6. Those Princes sure knew how to pick a spot for a summer residence ;-)
Happy birthday to your daughter, Merisi!

  7. That first one made me think of Maxfield Parrish. You just need a nymph or two in filmy draperies, leaning over the balustrade (if that's the right word.)

  8. Ha! I did something similar but at Versailles...
Blue skies, statues plus bubbling fountains
    Great minds...bal bla

  9. :) Den gibts morgen "von innen". Und den anderen in Buchannon Str. nehme ich mir auch noch vor, der hat andere Räume :)

  10. What a stunning place. I'd love t pay it a visit

  11. Lovely photos, great colours!

  12. I remember one thing of Slovakia: beautiful hilly landscapes:)
Thank you Merisi for giving heads up about google reader!

  13. I was quite a buff of Prince Eugene and I read a lot about him. I knew of this place but I never managed to see it. Thank you for these pictures!

  14. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be surrounded by the beautiful scenery you share here. Really special!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a note.
