I want Spring
Viennese Moments

Che gelida manina ....
Well, I worried about a bit more
than an ice-cold little hand

It's snowing
on our spring

Spring can be found only
from the outside, looking in

Sun Umbrellas at Graben Square
with hanging shoulders, waiting in vain

I decide to fetch a cab
and flee to warmer climes

I will board a ship, and sail into the sun.
Disembark in Barbados, tomorrow morning.
Cutting sugar cane, if need be

  1. There is no Frigate like a Book
    To take us Lands away
Nor any Coursers like a Page
    Of prancing Poetry –
This Traverse may the poorest take
    Without oppress of Toll –
    How frugal is the Chariot
    That bears the Human Soul

  2. Sing, my heart, the gardens you never walked,
like gardens sealed in glass balls, unreachable.
    Sing the waters and roses of Isfahan and Shiraz;
    praise them, lush beyond compare.

Swear, my heart, that you will never give them up.
That the figs they ripened ripened for you.
That you could tell by its fragrance
    each blossoming branch.

Don't imagine you could ever let them go
once they made the daring choice: to be!
Like a silken thread, you entered the weaving.

Whatever image you take within you deeply,
even for a moment in a lifetime of pain,
see how it reveals the whole — the great tapestry.

  3. I do so understand!!! We are finally having a comfortable, sunny day and blue skies and I wish I could send you some!! The seemingly endless GRAY had about driven me to looking for anyplace to go that had sunshine!! I do hope it will show up in your world soon, Merisi!!

    1. Sylvia, I am so delighted to hear that the god have unfolded blue skies over your region! Here, Tuesday morning, and it is snowing, again. Or still. Who knows? It all seems like some Bill Murray Groundhog Day, all over again. ;-)

  4. It's snowing again here with strong winds. Love that last photo with the pretty curtain. Inside, I'm looking out at white, white white...
Counting our blessings that we're warm and fed.
