Gustav Klimt's Lake Attersee
September Morning by the Lake

Lake Attersee
Out on the open water
the lake already glitters
in its myriads of greens and blues

On the lake's eastern shore,
the shadows are slowly receding,
the light promising a glorious late summer day

This group apparently is eager
to experience the light underwater,
a few onlookers waiting for them onshore
