  2. At the beginning of this year I dreamt I had a Granddaughter in a red coat and hat. There were no plans for a Granddaughter, but about a week later I found out I would be a Grandmother. Now I am waiting to hear if it will be a girl with a red coat. This little girl is precious.

  4. Red coat and red cap, and where is the red boots? :)
    Nice photo!

You are right, hungarian is not an easy language. I used to write the text in english too, but not always. Please use the Google or Bing translator.

  5. Paris Breakfast,
I have not seen the movie, thank you for the tip. I love the actors, but due to the terrible events in the story, I never dared watch it (I had it on my wish list, strangely, filed under "Movies and Venice" with the German title, "Wenn die Gondeln Trauer tragen" - "When the Gondolas Wear Mourning").

The image this picture evokes in my mind is Vermeers "Girl with a Hat" - not the girl per se, but the colors (it hangs in Washington DC, btw).

  6. Marilyn,
what a lovely dream and good luck, may your wish come true! :-)

    Marcheline,
    si, davvero! :-)

What was it that you wanted me to photograph in Italy:
    Absinthe?

    Paz,
I still do, dream in Italian that is - in English too.

    Mr. Paparazzo,
one of my little girls had a pair of Doc Marten's in shiny red patent leather. ;-)

It's wonderful that you have the translation app, I use it all the time!

  7. P.S.:
It's best to open the Vermeer link "in a new window" -
the image itself can be enlarged considerably by simply clicking on it. Enjoy! :-)

  11. Fab photo on a whole lot of levels - I love this!
Thanks for the link - I hadn't thought of the connection myself until you drew my attention to it. The little red shoes in my pic were worn by my Bella when she was three!

  13. Vicki Lane,
some days pictures present themselves front of one's eyes, isn't it?

    Karen,
I must admit that the more I look at it, the more it grows on me. I feel very lucky that I caught her eyes, they talk, don't they? My girls wore similar shoes! :-)

    Mary,
    thank you! xxx

  16. Merisi, this little girl is so cutely dressed!
I saw you linked to a painting of Vermeer. Do you know the book "I WAS Vermeer," authored by Frank Wynne? Absolutely riveting true story about a Dutch forger of the Vermeer paintings.
