I have yet to find a square mile in Vienna
without a coffee house. One could get
the impression that every time you wish
for coffee - at the slightest onset of desire -
the Viennese Coffee Fairy plants a coffee house
right in front of you.
You see no coffee house sign?
Well, the temple is undergoing renovations,
Theseus has been moved to a museum,
what would seem more natural
than opening a coffee house there?
Just send a signed petition
to City Hall! ;-)
Rose Garden - Volksgarten
No coffee house?
No need to panic:
Café Landtmann is less than five minutes away,
Café Meierei just across the rose beds!
Empress Elisabeth Memorial Garden
Did you know that Empress Sisi
had coffee for breakfast?
In the imperial palace, of course,
but who knows, she might just have
sneaked out and into Demel's,
indulging in a cup of Viennese melange
in the afternoon!

The heather is my favorite of all! Lovely shots here!ReplyDelete
All so beautiful, but the last shot of the purple heather in urns descending is just eye popping.ReplyDelete
One day I will visit Vienna for coffee, because you have inspired me to wish for it.ReplyDelete
I would so love to try a sampling of your most famous coffee, and sit and chat a while. Have a great weekend Merisi~ReplyDelete
I've never seen Heather growing in Australia - it's so pretty.ReplyDelete
And I love those grassy things in the fountain.
Lovely photos - they make me want to jump up off my chair and rush outside.
You must be very grateful living in such a great city, where something alike is possible.ReplyDelete
Please have a good weekend.
I love the vertical movement in the fountain shot!ReplyDelete
I was going to say the first shot was my favourite but then, like Sandi, I saw the image of the heather!ReplyDelete
You make me long for coffee in Vienna......as always.ReplyDelete

Amazing pictures, you make dream of the day I will be able to visit your lovely city and drink ALL the coffees!ReplyDelete
I love to see fountains, but smell heather! So, I guess the fountain is my fave pic:)ReplyDelete
I, too, love the fountain picture best. I don't think I've ever seen a public fountain with water plants growing around it. It's truly gorgeous!ReplyDelete
