Third Sunday Of Advent In Vienna

Sunday Afternoon
In the Greek Quarter

The Greek Quarter was a vibrant
commercial center in the early Middle Ages,
due to its proximity to the Danube harbour.
The Neo-Byzantyne red brick facade with the golden arches
belongs to The Greek Orthodox Church of The Holy Trinity.

  1. How lovely are those purple doors?! I bet the advent wreath is quite a vision at St. Stephens. My husbund and I were so taken with that cathedral during our visit. I can only imagine what it must look like during Christmas time. Hope you're staying warm, Merisi. The ladies in the first picture look very bundled up.

  2. good evening to you Merisi, and many thanks for these visions of an Advent Sunday in Vienna.

New York was dark, rainy, windy, and cold today. Not at good day for commerce. A day to make me yearn to be in a candlelit church near Central Park attending an evensong service with exceptional Bach music. Perhaps next year.
