An Invitation
to dream
"Mon enfant, ma soeur,
Songe à la douceur" *
A lit candle
brought to your table,
plumped up cushions
awaiting your tired frame.
Caffé latte, cappuccino,
poppy seed cake,
sugar cubes.
Asking
for a little bit more milk
will bring forth
these miniature pitchers.
Under the bell jar,
next to the "Varia" drawer,
sweet temptations
awaiting their turn.
Gilded trays
carrying dark dreams
to be drowned
in a myrad
of sweet illusions,
setting the whole world adream
in a warm golden glow.
*
"Le monde s'endort
Dans une chaude lumière.
Là, tout n'est qu'ordre et beauté,
Luxe, calme et volupté." *
*) French quotes from "L'invitation au voyage"
by Charles Baudelaire

ReplyDeleteThings are great here in Jamaica, but too hectic for me to start blogging again. I still take my camera everywhere though and keep thinking how fantastic they will look on my blog! LOL. I so miss blogging though and hope I'll be back soon.
In the meantime I have so much catching up to do in the blogosphere! I feel like I've been gone for ages.
