Nel blu dipinto di blu
Volare

Blue painted in the blue
Flying

I think such a dream will never come back
I painted my hands and my face blue
Then suddenly I was ravished by the wind
And I started flying in the infinite sky

Flying, oh oh...
Singing, ohohoho...
Blue painted in the blue
Happy to be up there

And I was flying, flying happily
Higher than the sun and even higher
While the world was slowly disappearing, far beneath
A soft music was playing just for me

Quoted from Diggiloo Thrush
(Eurovision lyrics and translations).

Nel blue dipinto di blue,
("Dans le bleu du ciel bleu", also known as "Volare"),
is one of the first Italian songs I remember hearing.
The original version
by Domenico Modugno is still my favorite.

  5. I trust that your trip was a blast? It looked great from the pics. I really like the ones of Lake Garda. I've never windsurfed before, but what a way to do it with the mountains as a backdrop!

  6. Luc:

    Savannah:
    You are welcome!
Small world of music, isn't it?

    Cream:
    Yes, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful ...
    Who sings that again???

    somepinkflowers:
    Thank you! :-)

    Bruce:
Yes, the trip was a blast, so much so that I'd love to leave again right now. :-) And yes, Lake Garda is a truly magnificent place to do windsurfing.

Yes, the variety of land- and seascapes is amazing. I love the South the most, ever since I went to the first Magna Grecia Convention in Taranto.

    Cream:
    Merci for the plaisir. :-)
It's a song I heard on the radio recently, a real earworm. I found this text so far,
"Hey, ain't life wonderful? Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful... Isn't it wonderful now?",
but this is not the one I am looking for. ;-)
I have a Johnny Mathis record I will listen to, maybe it's there.

    Andrea;
Yesh, yesh, exactly, "photo essay"! Thank you. :-))
(I feel a bit like sneaking around with a secret lover, you know, posting pictures from elsewhere, but: I can't help it, I am still on Italian high. *smile*).

    paris parfait:
Yes, this is what these Italian landscapes do to me: Make me feel at peace with myself. Let me "be" as a friend calls this.

    liquid sky arts:
    Wanderlust, yes! :-)
I am ready to return there right now. :-)
