Vorstadt Gem: Café Winkler

.

.

Patron chats with owner.
Winkler is the first coffeehouse I encountered, where patrons actually greet each other. Usually there reigns an atmosphere of polite ignoring each other, which is fine with me: After all, you visit a coffeehouse in order "to be left alone in company".**

.

Just couldn't resist the play of colors between the roses and the patrons' shirts. *

.

Viennese melange, served on a silver tray with the ubiquitous glass of tap water (Vienna's drinking water comes from pristine mountain springs and is of the highest quality).

*) I took this picture on the sly (I want to be able to return to that lovely place without being identified as "that annoying photographer!".). ;-)
**) Alfred Polgar coined this phrase.
