A Bird came down the Walk
Viennese Moments

Hooded Crow
looking for food
in my neighbor's garden
8:00 AM this morning

A bird came down the walk:
He did not know I saw;
He bit an angle-worm in halves
And ate the fellow, raw.

  1. Anything that pictures a rook or crow, is fine by me. Nice shot, Merisi.

    1. First thing in the morning, with first cup of tea in hand, I watch the crows. This morning there was a whole flock around my neighbor's feeding station. I tried to get a picture, but the moment I lifted - carefully! - my camera, they went off in all directions. They are very hard to photograph, so very vigilant! After a while, two of them came back, the food too tempting, I suppose. I caught this one, just in time.

  5. I know that feeling, I swear birds know when you even THINK about reaching for the camera. Lovely shot. I do so love birds and bare branches.
