Wishing for March
Vienna in Winter

Dear March - Come in -
How glad I am -

I hoped for you before -
Put down your Hat -

You must have walked -
How out of Breath you are -

Dear March, how are you, and the Rest -
Did you leave Nature well -

Oh March, Come right upstairs with me -
I have so much to tell -

  1. It snowed again last night.
I had to resort to Emily's words for comfort.

A wonderful Sunday to all of you,
    Merisi

  2. Merisi, I believe March is partial to green, so it was clever of you to temp him with the multiple green door. So inviting! I am sure, he won't be able to resist and will arrive soon, in 6 days at the latest.

  3. I like your inner eyes to capture these beauties. I was born in March when the world is brightened up gradually from the pale wintry landscape.

Thanks for your visit. I could reach this blog through “traffic sources.”

  4. Love the texture in the first shot and the whole feel of the composition.
The walkway in the last one looks a bit scary. Button up the coat and don't slip...

  5. My conductor brother is on Berlin/Leipzig for a few days and could report home: Snow. Winter.

We have had a lovely, sunny weekend at the cabin. No snow. Lunch out in the terrace. Back home in Trondheim to winter though.......

    1. We have been reduced to look at green painted doors, if we want to see some color. ;-)

    1. That is a beautiful highlight of a not so grand contemporary passage way. ;-)

  8. I have been thinking of you often today, looking at the trees in full bloom around here. I wish I could send you a large branch to cheer you up. March is almost here, and spring will come soon. I must tell you that your snow photo make me want to listen to Schubert's Winterreise.

    1. Simona,
knowing that you were thinking of me makes for sweet comfort! *hugs*

Franz Schubert composed the first part of the "Winterreise" - "Winter Journey" - during the month of February 1827. Must have been just like the one we are suffering through this year. I heard this has been the dreariest winter in 50 years. No wonder I am climbing up walls in desperation! ;-)

  9. I love the way you match a verse of poetry with your wonderful pictures, Merisi. March is nearly here and, hopefully, warmer weather.
