Morning at the Farmers Market
Karmelitermarkt in Vienna's Leopoldstadt

A Sunny Saturday Morning
Off to a good start
at Kaas am Markt
Karmeliterplatz

with a Viennese Melange
in a hand-painted ceramic Gmundner mug,
served with a complimentary vanilla crescent

On the way out
of the fabulous slow food heaven,
Kaas tempts once again with
a wide range of artisan breads
and the finest walnut-filled Danish crescents

Look at this purple cauliflower,
basking in the morning sunshine:
Way more enchanting than
rounding up the usual vegetables
in plastic bags at the supermarket,
isn't it?

Seedless muscat grapes -
late autumn's golden girls -
compete with the seasons's
first Christmas door swag

Vienna's largest selection
of red-hot and yellow chili peppers?

Pale lavender Shasta daisies
competing with brilliant yellows and reds

Once more the bread basket
in front of Kaas am Market cafe and deli:
Center stage, brioche crescents decorated
with coarse sugar; at the bottom right,
the last walnut-filled Danish crescent

Photographed
Saturday morning
at Kaas am Markt
and the farmers market
at Karmeliterplatz
Leopoldstadt
2nd District

  11. I am so thankful to be back and able to view all of your images. My computer has basically been nearly silent as I have been dealing with...stuff;))) I love this entry and ,as another said, your images always make me hungry too. Is that Rose Hips I spy in the flower arrangement, what a lovely idea for an autumn arrangement. Your images always transfer me to where they have been taken, just beautiful~
