  2. Zosia,
it is one of the oldest parts of Vienna, going back to mediaeval times.

  3. Merisi, this beautiful tribute to sunlight and the just prior posts remind me yet again of you fabulous range of interests, subject matter, and mastery of photography mixed with poetry.

(I am still making my way through the Stefan Zweig book, feeling that I am both taken back to another time, while also realizing that people might just be much the same no matter what the decade.)

  4. Beautiful! Although I've seen this spot many times, I've never seen it so filled with light and color. Great job!

  6. Out of all the places I wandered in Vienna this summer, this was the alley that got photographed the most! Thank you for bringing back happy memories to me. Such a lovely place!

  7. I want to sit behind that second story window with a glass of wine and a book, and glance down into the street below as people pass.

  9. Thank you all for your kind comments! :-)

    Marcheline,
you could actually do that: there is a restaurant to the left of the lane, with a window and tables next to it.
