Some Blue Evening
Viennese Encounters

Guy Noir - Private Eye
Sitting at a table in front
of the Loos American Bar,
keeping an eye on the souvenir
he purchased for his beloved:
An original Gerstner pistachio macaron

The Third Man
Harry Lime's blood froze
when he discovered Holly Martins
in the Louis Vuitton shop window
at Kohlmarkt

Before Sunrise
Céline watches
Jesse's reflection
in Diesel's window

Modern Times
Even Chanel could not make
a leather-encased giant iPad
tasty enough to eat

Breakfast at Tiffany
Meet me at the corner
of Kohlmarkt and Wallnerstrasse -
I shall bring fresh Demel croissants!

  3. Merisi, you have made me smile and smile again with your take on these cinema greats. I also love seeing the shop windows, and seeing which resemble those companies' windows in NYC. It is interesting to imagine the creators coming up with globally attractive merchandising. Or perhaps, it is their customers who travel the world and like seeing the message continue?

  8. Pietro,

I am looking forward to your mail.

    Photowannabe,
    thank you! :-)

    Vicki Lane,
    thank you! :-)

    Frances,
truly interesting how some companies create one universal look for their stores worldwide. I have no proof, but from what I have observed Diesel does engage local artists quite frequently. Theirs are probably my favorite windows of multinational companies.
