  2. Merisi, you are encouraging me to get back to that library to check out a volume by Emily D.

    Thank you!

As always, you catch a particular pulse from Vienna.

This evening in New York, I think of what the pulse might be in another historic city, Athens.

Surely, there will be some posts from there that will give us a sensitive view of what it is to be in a cultural gem, at the same time that current history unveils itself.

New York...it's summer hot, but not too much humidity yet.

    xo

  11. @ EG Wow,
I liked the bouncy walk, then the breeze took hold of the girl's skirt ... ;-)

    @ Frances,
many of Emily Dickinson's poems are online.
I am reading a new biography of her, by Lyndall Gordon, “Lives Like Loaded Guns” (Virago 2010)
    fascinating!

    Athens, oh yes,
modern times there: frankly, I am a bit confused by what's happening.
Do they really think that other countries' citizens should pay more taxes so they can reelect and finance their corrupt system?

    @ A Brush with Color,
    *smile*

    @ Vicki Lane,
    I thought so too! ;-)

    @ Charles Gramlich,
they gave the impression of ...

    @ Vickie,
I had to be quick to get this shot.
I tried to capture them repeatedly, but other pedestrians kept walking in front of them.

    P.S.:
I was not able to access the blog yesterday.
Kept getting "Bad request" - after 6 1/2 years, still a mysterious relationship with Blogger. ;-)
