  2. Very nice! The next time I drive on Hwy 101, I must remember to take a photo to put side by side with that of Bonbon. In the meantime, have a nice weekend.

  3. Beautiful as always, it's been a while since the last time I stopped by your blog, but the pictures are as wonderful as always.

I tried to see older posts (the last one I can see is from July 14th) and at ARCHIVES does not let me see any more. Did you erase them? Hopefully not, when I want to dream about going to Austria I come to your blog and start checking all those beautiful photographs you take. Have a great weekend.

  7. Cobalt Violet,
    I agree! ;-)

    Simona,
I am looking forward to see what you found on Highway 101! :-)

    Armida,
thank you for leaving a comment!

I closed the archive because I thought no one would miss it anyway (and no one has for months, you are the first one to notice, as far as I know).

Would you be so kind and send me a mail?
I'll help you find my archived pictures.

  8. Vicki Lane,
definitely the most colourful shopfront security shutters I ever noticed. ;-)

I associate these usually rather drab rolling shutters more with the distinct noise they produced in my small Roman street, at one o'clock in the afternoon and then again in the evening, when the shops closed. First that distinctive rolling noise as if hell were opening and then the loud clang when they finally enganged in the locking mechanism. To this day I can recall that sequence as soon as I hear the words "rolling metal shutters" or at the sight of them. Part of the noises of summer in Rome.

  10. Acornmoon,
    me too! ;-)

Would you believe me that I waited for several minutes in the hope some interesting people would walk by? No, wouldn't! (I had captured the passersby in the pictures just as I was approaching, just in time, but I wanted to get more, alas, it was not to be - funny, how this happens.)
