  2. Jinksy,
all is well, if it ends well!
I was thinking about the passengers on that plane, how long they had had to wait to get home.
We had friends traveling from London, they left last Thursday, got grounded in Amsterdam, reaching Vienna only Tuesday night! They took it with good spirit, being seasoned travelers, all they wanted was to get safely to their destination.

  3. It has been a weird, noiseless week and a hard lesson that mother nature has the last word, always. We may think we are the masters of the Universe but it 'aint so.

Took everyone's mind off the necessary evils of the looming elections though.

  4. WOW Amazing!
    here's the interesting thing-
When there was the 9/11 no-fly ban, the air cleared miraculously.
All those air streams from planes have quite a deleterious effect on global "cooling" they called it.
    go figure...

  5. Good morning Merisi.

I've been having a marvelous catch up look at your recent posts. Each one is a beauty, and has set my imagination roaming.

I so agree about that special quality of morning light.

The angels post has a delightful pace.

It's funny to have those big planes back up in the air just in time to celebrate Earth Day.

    Best wishes. xo

  7. I can't imagine being stranded for so long. I was just in Iceland in October and was hiking around the glacier, stayed at a little hotel at the base of it. The land of fire and ice sure lived up to it's name this year.

  9. Up up and away!I would rather be stranded than never get home at all. It is good they took the precautions, but I know it really hurt the airline companies.

  10. Amazing the far flung havoc wreaked by that volcano -- not just stranded travelers, but farmers and growers in Africa who couldn't get their crops to European markets and who knows how many others in a domino effect.

  11. It truly is amazing to notice them when they haven't been there, isn't it!? Good news, I'm sure, for MANY!

  14. Hi,
This is my first visit to your blog - found via My Marrakesh.
I enjoy 'travelling' the world through internet from a local perspective, so I'm guessing this could be my kind of blog in a way.
I also try to do the same sometimes with my city on my photography blog.

    Best,
    Afshan

Great picture and I'm happy the planes are flying again.
