Into The Blue Evening

Annagasse

Café Mozart
Albertinaplatz
Albertina Square was home
to a Mozart monument for
more than fifty years, until 1953,
when it was transferred to
the nearby Burggarten,
the former private gardens
of the Emperor
.

Angels
During Christmas time,
a heavenly flock of papier-mâché angels
watch over Café Mozart's patrons
from on high.

Bright Stars
light your way home along
Kärntner Strasse.
These here
are dancing in front of the
Grundemann-Esterházy Palais

Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight;
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

Wherever you are,
may all your wishes
come true!

  4. Merisi, your views of a blue Viennese evening do give us inspiration to make wishes.

Is it not good that we continue to wish, whether or not our prior wishes caught their particular star?

    Cheers! xo

  7. Oh heavens!
    why didn't I scroll...
More of your gorgeous (OK a misnomer) L'heure bleu.
Was it invented in Vienne and is Guerlain is a copycat?
    PS
I have been to Vienna already if only for an afternoon slice of gateau at the Sacher Hotel.
    Have you been to Paris..?

  8. Thank you all for your kind comments and wishes! :-)

    Carol @ Paris Breakfasts:
No, I have never been to Paris!
One dark winter morning, I flew in a plane over Paris, so low that I could even discern the illuminated streets and the Eiffel Tower. It was like flying over the most beautiful city on a magic carpet. I shall never forget it.

I am always torn when my visitors ask about the Sachertorte. I never liked it. Way too dry and the chocolate glaze too cloying for my taste. I have never been to the Sacher either. Every time I attempted to, they tried to shove me and my guests into the back room. Each time, I treated my guests to the Annatorte at Demel's instead: No one has ever complained about that alternative. ,-)
