September Roses

In the cool light of the early morning -
the sun still low over the horizon,

long shadows blanketing the rose beds -
there shone these beauties,

dreaming of bursting into a riot of colours
at the touch of the first sun rays.

Photographed by Merisi
in the garden of an old farmhouse
in the lowlands of the
Venetian Lagoon.

  2. Your photography is beautiful. I have always enjoyed Vienna and Venice, too,, but never lingered in either place a long time as I was always on my way to Budapest.

  3. They are so beautiful that they look unreal (in a positive way). Many thanks. You're a superb photographer.

    Greetings from London.

  4. Thank you all so very much for your kind comments, also regarding the previous posts!

I hope you continue to enjoy my Italian impressions and understand that it will take me a few days until I am back to capturing Viennese images.

With best wishes for a great start into the new week,
    Merisi

  5. Thank you so much for stopping by TNS and commenting. A lovely surprise from across the sea.
Your blog title is perfect for I am very much a beginner to Vienna. Looking forward to learning.
Your roses are so much prettier than mine this time of year. Pretty sure it is the photographer.

  7. Those roses love you so, posing and blushing in the Autumn sun. Beautiful.

  8. You take the clearest, most vivid, pictures. How do you do it??

I still can't get over how long the roses bloom here in Europe. Last year, I had some blooming up until the end of November!

  10. Oh, that second shot -- with the light captured in the petal's cup -- heavenly!

  11. Good evening to you, Merisi.

I think that Italy is kinder to early autumn roses than our New York City. Still, I do see a few each day that find the air and the sun.

Your pictures are, as always lovely, and inspiring.
