  5. Beautiful rose for a beautiful lady.

I am amazed that there are still roses blooming in Wien. My garden is filled now, I bring in new bouquets all the time.

  6. LOUCIAO,
those roses are special, I agree!
I have caught them more than once in the evening light. Even though I know Beethoven never rested his eyes on them, they still touch my heart, growing where he must have passed by many times.

    LAKEVIEWER,
I lived many years in the same neighborhood and frequented the same church as the Shrivers. They attended 7am mass every day, and continued to do so when Mr. Shriver became frail and a little lost. I have happy memories of masses there and also some very sad ones, of days when I mourned loved ones, and they are part of these memories, they themselves having their own share of tragic losses. May she rest in peace!

  7. CHARLES GRAMLICH,
I shall keep those "freckled" roses in my vocabulary, thanks to Louciao!

    CAROL @ THE WRITERS PORCH,
that lavender's fragrance was very strong, it wafted into the street!

    VICKI LANE,
Eunice Shriver did make a difference in the lives of so many people. I agree with her son's statement that even though she never went into politics, she has changed how the world views and treat handicapped people. Her tireless work should have earned her a Nobel prize!
