Belvedere's Alpine Garden in May

Pink Peony

Clematis

Today
is one of those days
when I had a hard time
putting a post together.
At the end,
I decided to publish
two flower pictures,
simply because I loved
the lighting conditions
I found them in.

I spent lunch hour
at the Belvedere's Alpine Garden.
I liked how the noon light
almost washes out the peony's pale pink,
while it highlights a few low hanging flowers
of the clematis plant,
growing high on old brick wall.

The two smaller pictures
will enlarge when clicked upon,
the first images will lead you
to other visits of the Alpine Garden.
Enjoy! :-)

  4. I absolutely ADORE peonies...I'm impatient with mine, just now...Wish they would open beautifully like the one in your photo...I love the interplay of light as well...Fall is my favorite season here in the D.C. area as the light falls so golden and gentle on everything!!! This is a gorgeous post, and I so appreciated discovering a little of your photographic thinking...your genius! Cheers! Janine XO
