  1. They don't look happy, though, do they, that couple in pic 3, the man fat from driving everywhere, the woman with bags under her eyes, the waiter discrete as always. Are they Viennese I wonder or visitors?

  2. We stayed at Hotel Am Schubertring just across the street and ate at the cafe. Good memories.

  4. Is that meringue on your coffee?

(Come to think of it, is it YOUR coffee in your pictures? Do you ask strangers if you may photograph THEIR drinks?)

  5. What can I say? The whole of Vienna looks as if its a fairy tale, everything seems so- picture perfect!

  6. Sally Crawford from London: And there I was, acting all discrete, leaving the cafe'in the dark, so to speak. ;-)

Would you believe that it took me more than a year of living in Vienna, to finally realise that Schwarzenberg-Platz was that close to the Opera? I once sent a couple of tourists in the wrong direction, in my ignorance.

    *chuckle*
No, I don't ask strangers (well, once I took a photo of a whipped cream clandestinely - it was conveniently close to my cup of coffee at Demel's *g*). My friends, though, have taken to ask me if I have already taken a shot, before they dare take a sip. :-)

My melange in the picture today was topped with perfectly whipped milkfoam (and what a great cup of coffee this was!).

I am starting to feel at home here, - and I am probably getting a bit biased, I simply like the city and the people I encounter here very much -, but truth is, I do sometimes feel like living in a fairytale place.
