L'invitation au voyage

L'invitation au voyage

Mon enfant, ma soeur,
Songe à la douceur
D'aller là-bas vivre ensemble!

Décoreraient notre chambre;

Dont l'humeur est vagabonde;
C'est pour assouvir
Ton moindre désir
Qu'ils viennent du bout du monde.
— Les soleils couchants
Revêtent les champs,
Les canaux, la ville entière,
D'hyacinthe et d'or;

Charles Baudelaire

  6. Thanks to all of you for wanting to come along, there's space for everybody! :-)

    I took this picture early one morning, when all of a sudden I realized that the sun had found its way through a calle to light up the ropes. One of those moments in life that come and go so quickly you barely catch them, but then stay in your memory for a long time.

  7. I cannot believe you did this!This morning I finally put pen to paper and began writing, trying to unlock how I felt as a teen. Ah, Merisi, you turned the clock back some nearly 20 years. Final year at school, first love, I knew this par coeur...

  8. Even though I am not proficient in French, certain poems I've learned to comprehend fully, this is one of them (another one that comes to my mind is "Le cimetière marine" by Paul Valéry).
    I have a beautifully illustrated version of the poem from Bulfinch Press, maybe I should try to locate an online source and link it. Later I shall try.
