Stopping at the ATM, missing the Bus
Little Things of no Importance

Spring Afternoon
Shortly after 5 PM, mid-seventies

Stopping at the ATM,
I missed the bus afterwards

The light was irresistible,
so I pulled out my mobile phone

The air was scented
with lilac fragrance

"Abendlich strahlt der Sonne Auge"
That Rheingold aria came to mind,
while looking up, where, beyond the young leaves,
once upon a time Egon Schiele created masterpieces
in his studio at the top floor:
Vienna, the past always present,
in the most ordinary moments

Photographed 27 April 2015
with my mobile camera
in the 13th District (Hietzing)

  1. "Abendlich strahlt der Sonne Auge" -
Tentative translation: "The sun’s eye resplendent in the evening hour"
I am sure there's an official one out there, but I was unable to retrieve it.

  6. Hi Merisi, have just been looking back on past spring posts.. divine! I've not been to Vienna and the way my fear of flying is developing I may never :) so it's fantastic to be able to see Vienna through your eyes, merci beaucoup.

The official translation appears to be "At evening the eye of the sun shines"
Yours is poetic to the max
