A Light exists in Spring
Merisi's Getaway Postcards

A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period —
When March is scarcely here

A Color stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.

It waits upon the Lawn,
It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
It almost speaks to you.

Then as Horizons step
Or Noons report away
Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay —
(Emily Dickinson)

  1. Just lovely light and shadow images, Merisi. Exactly what photography is all about. That, plus being in the right place at the right time .. and you always manage to do just that.

    1. Sylvia,
for some mysterious reason, Emily Dickinson's words make me see things otherwise hidden.
      A wonderful Sunday to you,
      Merisi

  3. How odd, that holds precicely true for autumn here where the landscape is sere and susty in summer and autumn with it's rains brings clear, clean air and nature back to life.

    1. Arija,
I felt the same on America's East Coast. Autumn meant clear air and respite for man and nature, after a long hot, often hazy summer.
