  7. Hey, You've visited where I was born and raised. Nice shots!

May I share with you what's been keeping me from reading and commenting on blogs lately?

"This Restless Life: a study of Central Coast California parks through photography, interpretive collage and stories" is a book project of which I'm in the midst. If you have the time and the inclination, would you take a look at my short video at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1778487749/this-restless-life?ref=email to learn more about the project? If you like the project, would you share it with your network of friends and family? Thank you sincerely. (I have a link to the video at the top of my blog page too.)

  8. Merisi, it would take a long email to tell you about what I know about the areas you've visited. Think that you know I grew up in Virginia, but a past professional role led me to know lots and lots about all sorts of North Carolina locations large and small.

Seeing your photographic sampling of light on this side of the ocean really does emphasize your magic with the camera. It's all in the eye!

  11. What's Eating Gilbert Grape.
Somehow this movie popped into my brain when I saw these photos.

  12. Lots of "not so sure it will ever move again" along the road in the country. We used to say we could tell how long someone had lived there based on the number of abandoned lawn mowers in their yard :)

Enjoy your trip and thanks for taking us along. It is indeed a long way from Vienna.

  13. So enjoying your road trip through a different landscape! These photos are so wonderfully atmospheric - they seem to capture a different era, a different pace of life.
    Golly, you are getting around!

Glad you are in the US for a visit. Wish you were coming to the West Coast. It would be fun to meet.

  15. The last 2 shots make me think about "Bagdad Café" ...!
The sight of them gives out the whole atmosphere ... I can hear Jevetta Steele sing "Calling you" ... and I can expect you to turn out any moment as the new Jasmin...!!!
