Coffee, anyone?
Vienna in Autumn

Fallow Dear
Lainz Game Reserve

Indian Summer Days
reluctantly cede more gold
to autumn's ways

Gently, though, relucantly,
shades of green still reign supreme

There are those corners, though,
were gold advances at a steady pace,

and even the table set for coffee break
shines in autumnal hues

  2. I love the autumn colors and the trees colorfully celebrating the beginning of the new season! And, of course, the coffee and cake looks delicious! What better way for you to celebrate!! Have a lovely weekend, Merisi!

    1. I imagine fall in your part of the world as very colorful.
The cake was not mine, and I even forgot to taste it! ;-)

  4. European Autumn - the sister of King Midas (not to be mistaken with her flamboyant and firey cousin, North American Fall).

  5. Were you really so close to those deer?
The colors are to die for there...
I bet you have 'melange' 3 times a day
    Your food pyramid!

    1. Carol,
yes, the deer were that close: I shot all these pictures with a 50mm lens, and did not crop them. The deer were standing next to a fence, being fed apples by another visitor.
I never drink more than two cups of coffee, often only one.

  6. Merisi, let me report that green leaves also still reign in Central Park. However, the radiators in my apartment have been doing some nocturnal heat-emitting hissing and so I expect that when I take a walk in the Park next week, more colors might have emerged.

Carol's comment has made me smile...I would so love the opportunity to sample that melange and pastry.

    1. Frances,
the horse chestnut trees here are under attack by the chestnut leaf miner moth. Its caterpillars tunnel through the leaves causing them to turn first mottled and then rusty. It's really sad.
