On Gustav Klimt's Birthday
What I learned on that memorable Day

Morning at the Belvedere
The city rose in rather subdued mood,
as if gilded finery were reserved
for the great artist born
150 years ago that day

5:56 AM
Somebody forgot to focus -
early mornings run better on automatic,
I learned

I also learned that fairies
still jump when I ask them to,
even at dawn's early light

  1. The sphinx seems bemused by the jumping fairy. Beautiful, as always, Merisi!

  2. With the city in the background, the fairy seems to be flying above the buildings - it's all about perspective.

  7. Klimt's life seems the very archetype of what an artist's should be
    for good and bad
His birthday is certainly something to celebrate.

your convincing power is strong ... to make someone jump like this at such an hour of the day (night) :)

    1. The same girl climbed up our cherry trees as a three year old already. Neighbors ringing my doorbell, worried up her up there. She's born an athlete.
