Merisi in Wonderland
Vienna, where the Magic happens

Floating Macarons
Macarons floating in the air
as if they were Les Parapluies de Cherbourg

A Cupcake
on the lam?

Giant Maraschino Cherry
on top and three feet
at the bottom?

More feet!
This is getting groovy ...

I am being
pulled into a vortex!

What are they thinking,
I am not Alice!

Have you ever watched the film
Les Parapluies de Cherbourg?
Click, it is magical.

All this and more happened in the shop windows
of STEFFL's department store

  1. Vienna forecast for April 30th: Sunny with a chance of Macarons, creamy fog and cherry showers.

  2. Paris Breakfasts:
Carol, it is adorb, really put a spring in my step (and lots of charges on my credit card!).

    Zosia,
I hate to correct you, but it is sunny and hot, in the 80s, and the macarons are hiding in the shade, afraid to melt, along with the cream! ;-)

  3. Merisi, what incredible lightness of being I see in your photos.

Yes, I know the film well, and all those years ago actually bought a record album featuring all the movie's music.

  5. So pretty and quirky and fun. I've never seen the movie but had no idea the song "If it takes forever, I will wait for you.." was from that production. Now it's going to run through my head. :)

  11. Dear Readers and Friends,
yet another repost! I tried to create something new, but there was no magic in there. I hate it when my posts look as if created for the sake of throwing something out there. It is such exquisite freedom to be able to create, but I usually need something "fresh", recent images that also captured my mind somehow (for good or for bad, i have no benchmark). The lack of new images is due to the fact that the flu has really hit me hard, it's two weeks now and I have to really watch how I use what little energy I have left.

However, I liked the playful images in this old post of mine, they are harder to get than you may think. Harder for me, that is, and I may be happy while other people look at them and wonder, turning away in disgust (oh well, I guess I esaggerate (spelling? Lately, my brain is mixing up languages like some spring vegetable stew, esagerare in Italian, esaggerate in English, my poor muddled language center!).

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday with many moments that cause you to smile,
    Merisi

  13. I hadn't seen this old post, so I was delighted by your images & the story that went with them!! The flu limits one's energy, I know, because I too was sick...Everything can become muddled...
