Tulips in the Morning
Viennese Moments

Will there really be a "Morning"?
Is there such a thing as "Day"?
Could I see it from the mountains
If I were as tall as they?

Has it feet like Water lilies?
Has it feathers like a Bird?
Is it brought from famous countries
Of which I have never heard?
Oh some Scholar! Oh some Sailor!
Oh some Wise Men from the skies!
Please to tell a little Pilgrim
Where the place called "Morning" lies!

  10. The Gossamer Tearoom:
Betty, it feels as if spring is in the air, here it Vienna. I spent last week 500 miles west, where snow keeps falling and falling.

    Sharon,
    keep warm!

    Rambling Woods,
    thank you! ;-)

  11. Merisi, that poem is so beautiful. I think that on my next visit to my library I will take the archair cage elevator to the level of the stacks where Emily D might be found. Again, I thank you for encouraging me to read poetry.

We've had a smattering of snowfall on last Saturday, that meant easy shoveling. After that, some rain and drizzle yesterday that seemed to magic the snow remains right up into the sky. Romantic fog as a result.

Today...springlike temperatures, and snowdrops blooming in Central Park.

Perhaps we are in for a gentle winter? The flowers on display outside the neighborhood groceries are definitely featuring tulips this week!
