  1. Rome.
    Forever etched in my heart.
    Rome,
where the roots of my youth's happiness
found fertile soil to grow and carry me into adulthood.
Rome, where at the Teutonic Cemetery of the Vatican, next to St. Peter's Basilica, rests the woman who gave me so much love.
    I miss her.

  3. I miss a living city. In winter here in Cleveland few dare to venture out of doors. I want to sit outside with my coffee and paper and wave to my neighbors again. Beautiful images as always.

  5. Love the shades of blue against the terracotta colours. It's still cold (-14 Celsius) in Warsaw.

  6. Roma forever. Also it is the anniversary of the death of John Keats in Rome. Sniff...

  13. Amazing how the light is a different light in another Country. You could so easily do for Rome what you have done for Vienna. You find the most interesting compositions.

  15. Loree,
I miss la Cittå Eterna, every day since I left.

    Moannie,
yes, that is so true, the light, the light!
It is still so that I know Rome better than Vienna,
and much more emotional connection. I am telling myself that Vienna is a wonderful place to live, but it is a different kind of emotion.

I remember watching a documentary about Sophia Loren on American (Public?) TV. I almost jolted out of my seat when they showed scenes of Pozzuoli, the area Sophia was born. It was the light that had struck me, I was sitting there, incredulous. Big case of homesickness ensued!

    Ladifi,
    thank you!
We all long for sun and light, after a long hard winter, don't we?

    Paris Breakfasts:
I was down in Veneto, north of Veneto,
doing research. Four days full of great coffee, though! ;-)
