A Winter Walk

A Winter Walk
along the trails of the Lainz Game Preserve,
formerly the emperor's private hunting ground
near Empress Elizabeth's
Hermes Villa

Walking Towards the Setting Sun
along the stone wall encircling
what is since the fall of the
Austro-Hungarian Empire
a public parc

A Picnic Bench
at the edge of the woods
waits for warmer days

Doll Meadow
Here, in the hills at Lindwurm Inn,
children go sledding
with a view of the city

Maxie
decides to go home:
His paws are cold

  1. Poor Maxie - it looks like his ground-hovering belly is cold as well!

  9. Snow pics are so lovely. But I'm not quite willing to live in the snow belt to get them.

  10. Your pictures bring back so many happy memories of a week we spent in Vienna a few years ago. I really loved it. SO much beautiful architecture, cute shops, history. I was in heaven.

  11. Thank you all so much! :-)
I will not publish a post today until later in the evening. Somehow I have set myself up for an interview at 5pm which I at first thought was a great time because my brain is at its most brilliant any time after 4pm, only to find out that it sort of eats away every hour that comes before that today because I am a nervous wreck! And I don't even know if I really want what I should get if the interview goes well!!!! Does this child ever learn? ;-)

Anyway, a wonderful day to you all,
until we see each other again,
    Merisi
