Where Summer Strives For Mastery

I know a place
Where Summer strives

I know a place where Summer strives
With such a practised Frost —
She — each year — leads her Daisies back —
Recording briefly — "Lost" —

But when the South Wind stirs the Pools
And struggles in the lanes —
Her Heart misgives Her, for Her Vow —
And she pours soft Refrains

Into the lap of Adamant —
And spices — and the Dew —
That stiffens quietly to Quartz —
Upon her Amber Shoe —

"I know a place where summer strives"
Poem by Emily Dickinson

  1. I have adored the lonely Miss Emily for so many years...but with words like that in her heart and mind, how lonely could she have been?
Lovely art work to go with brilliant words.

    SANDI MCBRIDE,
it is always a pleasure to quote Emily! :-)

    SIMON,
I have been told that I should "sharpen" my images. I definitely need a new computer, my present one has only MS Photo Editor. :-(

  9. Your photos and Ms. Dickinson's words are a beautiful mix today. I feel like I've taken a quick trip away from my everyday world.
