Rose

Nobody knows this little Rose --
It might a pilgrim be

Did I not take it from the ways
And lift it up to thee.

Only a Bee will miss it --
Only a Butterfly,

Hastening from far journey --
On its breast to lie --

Only a Bird will wonder --
Only a Breeze will sigh --

Ah Little Rose -- how easy
For such as thee to die!

(Emily Dickinson)

  7. I adore Roses...I can often be found out in the garden dusting for the darned aphids before I put the systemic poison to their dark dirty little habits! Beautiful flowers you're sharing...and I'm going to try the lovely Tomato recipe you gave me...thanks so much...

  10. Merisi,
Great rose pics (I'm catching up on your posts, because I was on vacation)! As well as the post above -I guess many take the opportunity to take a nap in the afternoon :)

  11. wow, these roses have spread so wide open! And very interesting to shoot so many of them from behind... cool angle! I actually currently have a (dying) rose in my room that I should try to dry out... Emily Dickinson's words are sadly true.

  12. A neighbour has a red rose bush growing in their front yard, and whenever I see it I think of the beautiful flowers you post here, Merisi.
