  1. The champagne cork is especially poignant. One can wonder if there was a little more to it than simply New Year celebrations. Food for the imagination...

  2. She'd meant to keep the champagne cork as a momento of their special night together.
But then she'd dropped it in the snow. That's what comes of too much champage and caviar. Oh well a girl can forget herself at times.
It happens to the best of us...ahem

  3. A little early to dance with the daffodils but your details have such poetry in them already,,,,,,,
I have offered your blog as an example of a super one to a new blogger.

  8. Hi Merisi! I hope that your holidays went well and a good time was had by all!

You take such wonderful pictures and I have missed so much lately (bad blogger am I). I have to agree with the others about the cork picture, it's an eye-grabber, but I do like the Christmas tree through the window almost as much.

  9. Ah, Balsam for the soul. I really like that phrase.
The cork in the snow tells a story so simply.
    Love this series Merisi.

  11. Beautiful photos, Merisi! Thanks for sharing! Thanks for visiting my blog. I am sorry to say that we have no hills around here. It's completely flat. See my skating photos. Only the dykes are higher to protect us against the water of the river.

  12. You picture of the champagne kork in the snow s really great!
I had nice muled wine in Berlin, in the markets, and your Vanille Kipferl remembers me about those I backed with my sister at her German home, I love them!
I wish you a wonderful new year!

  14. Mulled wine is great. But coffee and mulled wine, which do you drink first? It takes a while to sip your way through a mulled wine, and by then you would have café froid.

  16. exquisite, your photographs.
they make me want to return to Wien. My mother is Viennese and I visited only once with my parents many years ago...

I don't remember it being as poetic as in your lyrical photos.

  17. I answered all your comments,
unfortunately that took too much time. My internet provider threw me off-line while I was typing, and the comments were gone the moment I clicked the send button

So much for wanting to start the new year as a good blogger. :-(
