Venetian Lemon Tree

Ode to a Lemon

"Out of lemon flowers
loosed
on the moonlight, love's
lashed and insatiable
essences,
sodden with fragrance,
the lemon tree's yellow
emerges,
the lemons
move down
from the tree's planetarium.

"Ode al limone"

Da quei fiori
sciolti
dalla luce della luna,
da quell'
odore d'amore
esasperato,
immerso nella fragranza,
sorse
dall'albero del limone il giallo,
dal suo planetario
discesero i limoni sulla terra.

Me too! It was a beautiful little tree, standing in one of the Campi, in the morning rain, the yellow fruits beckoning.
    Thanks for coming by! :-)))
